Mattress Prices and Specifications Comparison -- Information last updated January 20, 2010
This page provides pricing, specification and warranty information for the Sleep Number Bed and the Comfortaire mattress. They are the two airbed leaders currently, but they are not the only manufacturers of airbeds.
About Prices
The prices listed below can change at any time.
They do not reflect any current specials, sales, taxes, etc. In addition, they do not include a foundation which can cost an additional $100-$500 depending mainly on size.
About Specifications (area in green)
In the large chart below, "height" refers to the mattress height, not including the foundation. The higher the mattress the more comfort layers it has and the more expensive it will usually be. "Surface" refers to the top of the mattress, the area in contact with the sleeper. "Comfort layer(s)" refers to to contents of the mattress above and or below the air chamber(s). "Controller" refers to the device used to add and remove air to achieve one's preferred firmness and comfort level; full fill & memory means that the bed can be inflated to a full, consistent look and then memory can return it to the predetermined sleep setting.
About Warranty

For the mattress cover, Comfortaire offers a separate and different warranty: up to one year no cost to the purchaser, after one year full cost to the purchaser.
It should be noted that Nationwide Mattress / Forever Air sells Comfortaire and provides its own warranty that is better than the manufacturer's. They offer a Limited Lifetime Warranty – 1 year on cover, all else 10 years 100%, 10 years pro-rated, 21 years + wholesale cost of the parts plus shipping.
