Material for Biddeford electric blankets ranges from 100% acrylic to 100% polyester to an acrylic / poly blend. Owners liked the softness provided by the 100% acrylic type but did not like that it had a tendency to pill and shed. Owners said that the 100% polyester and acrylic / poly blend types had less softness but also little pilling and shedding. Owners were overall pleased with the appearance of all the materials.

Owners were generally split in regard to whether they thought that the heating wires were too noticeable or not.

Owners generally liked the amount of heat generated by the blanket and the speed at which it would get warm. About 2% of owners wanted better heating effectiveness.
