When it comes to memory foam beds, is spending more the smarter
decision? Put differently, does the extra costly Tempur-pedic®
bed offer the greatest comfort and durability?
The focal point of our memory foam bed research centered around Tempur-pedic, Novaform / Sleep Innov / Costco, Bergad / Isoform, Bragada and other brands. In regard to cost, Tempurpedic is the most pricey, followed by Bragada, Bergad / Isoform and Novaform, in that order.
Comfort
Our research showed that when it came to comfort, Tempurpedic rated slightly under the other brands.
In particular, around 82% of owners of the less expensive brands indicated that their bed was comfortable, while 80% of Tempur-pedic owners said that their bed was comfortable.
So to get top comfort, you don’t necessarily need to pay top price, according to our research.
Durability
When it comes to durability, the less expensive memory foam mattress names are at least in the ballpark against Tempur-pedic. Tempur-pedic is likely at least somewhat more durable than the other brands, but the less expensive brands still tend to perform reasonably well, at least as well as virtually all innerspring mattresses.
Bottom Line
Tempur-pedic is a highly reputable memory foam bed brand. However, according to our research, there are less costly options that can offer similar comfort and usually not dramatically better durability.
